Origin and sustainability

A business that depends on the forest standing.

Our three products need the same healthy ecosystem: trees for shade, flowers for the bees and living soil. Looking after it is part of the job.

Organic farming

No synthetic fertilisers or pesticides. Soil fertility is kept with organic matter and natural management.

Shade-grown

Cardamom and vanilla grow beneath the trees. Production does not require clearing the forest, and the forest protects the crop.

Healthy bees

Hives are managed without antibiotics, in areas of wild vegetation. The bees also pollinate nearby crops and forest.

Producers

We work with growers in the region under long-term agreements, with prompt payment and technical support.

One ecosystem

Why cardamom, honey and vanilla

We did not choose these products at random. All three belong to the same landscape: the tropical mountain forest of Central America.

Bees need flowers all year, and a diverse forest provides them. Vanilla is an orchid that climbs the trees. Cardamom grows in the understory, sheltered from direct sun.

When the forest is healthy, all three crops thrive. That is why sustainability is a condition of our business.
