Green cardamom
Central America is one of the world's leading cardamom-producing regions. Our cardamom grows in the shade of humid mountain forests and is harvested by hand, pod by pod.
From the cloud forest to your plant
Cardamom is an understory plant. It needs shade, humidity and soil rich in organic matter, so it is grown beneath the forest canopy, with no need to clear the trees.
Pods are picked at peak ripeness and dried under controlled conditions. This keeps the deep green colour and the essential oils behind cardamom's citrusy, camphor-like aroma.
After drying, every lot is cleaned and graded by size and colour before being packed for export.
